* Eligibility varies by program. In general, the term 'local educational agency' means a public board of education or other public authority legally constituted within a state for either administrative control or direction of, or to perform a service function for, public elementary schools or secondary schools in a city, county, township, school district, or other political subdivision of a state, or of or for a combination of school districts or counties that is recognized in a state as an administrative agency for its public elementary schools or secondary schools.

** Prior to applying for the any competitive grant, an applicant must also submit a project proposal form online. To submit your project proposal form, go to http://recovery.ohio.gov/opportunities/state and click Submit Your Proposal.

(1) Once the money is allocated the districts are required to complete and return a letter of Commitment.  The date that funds become available to draw down is based on the date the LEA submits an application for approval with the earliest date being July 1, 2009.  They then get an initial payment as soon as it is final approved.
