Do you need an official GED® duplicate diploma? Individuals can order a diploma, which is used for display only. Diplomas may not be used for verification purposes such as employment or college/university. Employers, 3rd parties and/or colleges/universities may not secure a diploma.
Processing and Fees
The fee for a GED® duplicate diploma is $25. Duplicate diploma requests may take approximately two to three weeks to process after they are received by the State GED® office. Incomplete or incorrect information will cause processing delays.
Order Your GED® Duplicate Diploma Online
To complete an online order, you must have a Secure Application For Enterprise (SAFE) account. A SAFE account is a secure application only available on the Ohio Department of Education website.

The non-refundable service fee is for the record search. It does not guarantee that the person has taken or earned a GED®. The State GED® Office will mail an official duplicate diploma only to an individual. For security and authenticity purposes, all official diplomas are mailed directly from the State GED® Office to the individual.
For your protection, the Privacy Act of 1974 requires written permission with your signature to release GED® scores. The State GED® Office and local GED® testing centers cannot release GED® score information over the telephone.
GED® Scores From Other States
The State GED® Office has scores of the official GED® taken at test centers in Ohio. GED® test scores earned outside Ohio can be transferred to Ohio if the scores are reported directly from (1) official state-sponsored GED® test centers; (2) DANTES; (3) Veterans Administration hospitals; (4) American Council on Education; or (5) other state departments of education.
